On Wednesday 12 July 2017, from 15:00-16:00 at SAIPAR,  Miles Larmer and  Iva Pesa will present the project ‘Comparing the Copperbelt: Political Culture and Knowledge Production in Central Africa’ at SAIPAR. This ERC funded project at the University of Oxford (UK) started in October 2016 and will run until October 2020. It aims to provide a comparative historical analysis of the Central African Copperbelt (Zambia-D.R. Congo) focusing on the period from the 1950s until the 1990s. Larmer will provide an overview of the project as a whole (more information below), while Pesa will present her sub-project on environmental history (mining, pollution and urban agriculture).
